Today, we remember George Harrison, who on the 29th of November 2001, died at a property belonging to Paul McCartney in Los Angeles. He was 58 years old and he died in the company of his wife Olivia and son Dhani.
If you haven't watched, Martin Scorsese's documentary, 'George Harrison: Living in the Material World' truly captures the essence of Harrison's life, showing a side of Harrison that not many have seen. The reason Scorsese took the project was because the subject matter had never left him. He explained, "The more you're in the material world, the more there is a tendency for a search for serenity and a need to not be distracted by physical elements that are around you. His music is very important to me, so I was interested in the journey that he took as an artist. The film is an exploration. We don't know. We're just feeling our way through."
The legacy of George Harrison is too great to cover, so instead, we remember him today with two videos for you to enjoy.
The first video features Harrison performing his beautiful love song "Something"
The second video is a touching tribute of the same song from the 'Concert for George' show (definitely an annual must-watch concert), featuring Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Marc Mann.
