A dad is winning hearts online after a video of him crowd surfing with his young daughter at a metal festival has gone viral on Instagram.
The moment was captured recently at Inkcarceration Festival, a three day rock and metal festival held in Ohio, America, which saw the likes of Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God and over 50 other bands perform across three stages.
The video shows the dad lying on his back as punters in the mosh hold him up around the pit, while he holds his daughter by the legs to keep her steady. The moment truly takes crowd-surfing to its literal meaning, as the young girl is standing on her dad’s chest like he’s a human surfboard, all while the metal band Acid Bath performs on stage.
The video has racked up over 1.7 million views, with people online praising the dad for giving his daughter a taste of crowd surfing, all while making sure she stayed safe.
“That’s amazing,” wrote one person. “He let her stand so she was safe, didn’t fall and that no one touched her.”
“My internal motherly instincts are terrified, yet my inner metalhead loves every goddamn second of this 🔥” wrote another on Instagram.
While a third wrote, “Surfing her dad over the crowd is so tuff man wow. Best core memory.”
But that wasn’t the only cool moment captured of the dad and daughter duo at Ink Fest.
A different video shows another iconic dad-daughter moment, where the same young girl is seen in the mosh again, this time on her dad’s shoulders during a circle pit.
The video shows her smiling as her dad circles around with other festival goers, while she sits on one of his shoulders and rests her hand on his head. At one point, she gets a fist-bump from someone in the mosh.
The moments just go to show that metal mosh pits truly are more than just chaos - they’re often filled with connection, community and heart. Ya love to see it.
