NZ's own Cassie Henderson had the judges of 'The Voice Australia' gushing about her star power after her audition of Chappell Roan’s 'Good Luck, Babe!'.
Her whole audition was flawless start to finish, and plenty of fans (myself included) have watched the video just as proud as Cassie’s family, who were cheering from the side of stage.
All four judges turned their chairs for Cassie (that's a gold medal in 'The Voice' terms), and she got a standing ovation, easily proving she deserves a spot on the show.
Two judges who were particularly impressed with her vocal chops were Richard Marx and Ronan Keating.
Richard called Cassie “a star,” praising her stage presence, and head snaps - ngl, the hair flip was kinda iconic.
Ronan agreed, saying Cassie is a strong contender to take out the whole competition. “You can win this,” he told her.
Kate Miller-Heidke also praised Cassie for being “cool and fresh.”
With all four judges begging to have her on their team, Cassie had a tough decision to make. But just before she could announce her choice, Melanie C jumped up and said just four words to sway her decision.
“I’m a Spice Girl,” she said. “That’s all.”
In the end, Cassie put her trust in Melanie C to be her coach for the season.
“This feels like a dream,” Cassie said.
Fans have been flooding her Instagram with congratulations and messages of support.
One person wrote: “So incredibly proud!! You sounded amazing on stage and made us all cry while the TV was loud!!”
Another said: “Lesssshhggoooooo!! Not even surprised! 😤🙌🏽🎉🔥”
A third added: “Chasing dreams. Winning hearts. ❤️❤️❤️ You were on fire.”
This isn’t Cassie’s first reality TV rodeo. She previously appeared on season one of 'The X Factor New Zealand' in 2013, making it all the way to the quarter-finals.
We can’t wait to see how far Cassie goes this time around, and she’s got the whole of New Zealand rooting for her.
