Calvin Harris shades Miley Cyrus with tease of reworked collab

He’s made his feelings known.

Calvin Harris has taken a shot at Miley Cyrus after posting a teaser of a brand new track, which he previously announced a year ago.

Calvin originally started teasing a collaboration with Miley back in May last year, posting on social media and even playing the track in his sets.

The track was titled ‘Oceans’ and quickly gained momentum on social media, with fans excited about the idea of the two teaming up.

At the time, Calvin responded to comments hinting that he was trying to get the track released, but Miley’s label wasn’t allowing it. Not long after, the teaser clips were deleted, and Calvin has been quiet about the collaboration ever since.

In response to a comment on TikTok asking: “This was Miley’s team’s fault?’ he said: “Nah, it was my bad.. crossed wires.”

Now, over a year later, Calvin has shared another teaser - this time with a different vocalist and a whole new ’90s trance feel.

All signs point to the new vocalist being Jessie Reyez, who has shared Calvin’s post on her socials and commented on the DJ’s TikTok.

He also confirmed in a TikTok comments: “Jessie wrote this.”

Fans have also recognised Jessie’s vocals, with several people tagging her in the video. It wouldn’t be the first time they have collaborated, with their last track in 2017 called ‘Hard to Love’.

But not everyone’s happy. Some fans on social media demand the original version featuring Miley Cyrus, saying: “Where’s Miley?” and “I want the Miley vocals.”

Calvin has even gone as far as to take a swipe at Miley in the comments on TikTok, calling the new version “way better.”

He then doubled down in response to a TikTok comment saying: “I like this version better than the Miley version.” Calvin replied: “And it is!”

This comes just weeks after Calvin and partner, Vick Hope, welcomed their first baby, which also came with a bit of controversy.

The DJ’s Instagram announcement divided fans with “TMI” pictures showing the placenta after birth.

Calvin shared a series of photos from the birth and revealed that the newborn’s name is Micah.
