In case you hadn’t heard, the Biggest Pub Gig in the World took place at Auckland’s Spark Arena over the weekend.
Hosted by Eccles and The Sound, the night saw five classic Kiwi bands rock the arena. To give the whole thing even more of that nostalgic pub feel, punters were spoilt with burgers from The White Lady, beer gardens, meat raffles, and more.
When it came to the music, Goodshirt, Fur Patrol, Stellar*, Dragon, and Th’ Dudes did not disappoint. Fans, young and old, could be seen belting out lyrics, having a boogie, and continuing NZ gig culture.
After each performance, fans were also welcomed to take pictures with some of the bands at The Sound Lounge (lots of smiling and jolly faces, as you can imagine).
For those who joined us at The Sound Lounge, see if you can spot yourself below.

The event, which hadn’t taken place since 2020, came back with a bang all right. Words can’t do it justice, but just know that a time was had and the vibes were on
It was a sight that would make anyone proud to be Kiwi, and as said by Marty Duda, music commentator and host of The Sounds 50/50/50, it was “an evening made to warm the cockles of any good Kiwi rocker’s heart”
In our own attempt to sum it up: the music stayed loud, the drinks kept coming, and the fans went wild in what was a night to remember (or forget if you had a little too much fun).
Each band did a bloody brilliant job and solidified their status as NZ music icons.

See you all next year, eh?!
