About five years ago Robert Scott saw 'The Finns at the Zoo' concert at Auckland Zoo.
The gig was electric, with a full Finn family fair on display. Liam, Neil & Tim Finn were joined by Elroy & Harper Finn, plus Sharon & Elliot Finn.
Together they played all of the Crowded House classic hits to perfection, which got Robert Scott wondering if Neil Finn knew from that gig at Auckland Zoo that he was performing with the new Crowded House.
Neil Finn revealed at that time he hadn't actually 'crystallized' the thought, but over the last five years as the Finns have played more and more music together, it became the 'natural succession' plan of the band.
