Guitarist and songwriter from 'The Band', Robbie Roberston has passed away this week, aged 80.
In a statement, Robertson's longtime manager, Jared Levine, wrote:
"Robbie was surrounded by his family at the time of his death, including his wife, Janet, his ex-wife, Dominique, her partner Nicholas, and his children Alexandra, Sebastian, Delphine, and Delphine's partner Kenny.
Robertson recently completed his fourteenth film music project with frequent collaborator Martin Scorsese, Killers of the Flower Moon."
Tributes have been quick to appear online, with one fan calling Robertson the "Canadian king, a rock & roll legend in his own right, and dedicated collaborator of Dylan and Scorsese."
Roberston was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2011 for his success as a solo artist, song-writer and guitarist for 'The Band', and extensive work scoring films.
