Devilskin release new ‘Re-evolution’ album, your chance to win a copy on vinyl here

Devilskin have released their sixth studio album today, 11 years after their debut album.

Devilskin have just released their long-awaited album Re-evolution, and you can win a copy on vinyl here.

The album release comes exactly eleven years after the release of their chart-topping double platinum-selling debut album WE RISE, and features a collection of thirteen songs displaying just how far they have come in their epic 15-year journey. It also comes off the back of their 11-date nation wide tour.

“RE-EVOLUTION is bold. The band's sixth release is a profound collection of huge songs, both welcomingly familiar and sonically fresh,” says an official press release.

The album “reinforces Devilskin's fearsome reputation for honesty, depth and integrity, and for writing beautiful and captivating songs. The band dives deeply from introspective personal moments to visceral nightmares, weaved with brazen chaos, and dreamy, melodic mind trips.”

“Subject matter once again highlights the fact that the band aren't afraid to discuss the tough topics: loss; depression; phobia; anguish; addiction; death; and of course, life.”

The Hamilton four-piece have once again worked with producer Dave Rhodes, and say they’ve approached the album “from a fresh perspective.”

“We knew exactly what we wanted to achieve. We set some lofty goals for ourselves and everyone pushed themselves that little bit harder. We all had the one focus, just to make this our finest work, our most expressive, expansive and evocative album,” they continued.

Plus, it marks the first time that the band have added guest features to an album. Twelve Foot Ninja’s Nik Barker and Halestorm’s Joe Hottinger both lent their talents to the music. Sick.

Re-evolution is out globally today (July 11), with CD and vinyl available from Devilskin’s official website, as well as JB Hi-Fi and other select local record stores across New Zealand.
