Heinz is releasing a new ketchup flavour that'll have you either fangirling or freaking out

imma pass on this one thank you

Heinz is not afraid to bring some interesting food into this world and this time they're introducing one that could divide the nation: Pickled-flavoured ketchup.

I don't know if anyone was outright asking for this - what's wrong with normal ketchup? However, seeing as t-sauce and pickles have been a combination for generations I kind of get it.

Does that justify it becoming a condiment? Heinz's director of Innovation Katie Peterson believes so.

"Increased desire for tasty, yet unexpected condiments has served as our innovation north star for the last several years," she said.

"The current pickle craze mirrors the irrational love HEINZ fans have for the brand, so it only made sense for our newest ketchup to blend these two beloved tastes together."

'Pickle craze' is right. A new survey found that 73% of Americans love fermented cucumber, pickle potato chips exist and they make an appearance in girl dinners everywhere.

Kiwi pickle lovers will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the new sauce. It's currently available in the UK but won't be available in other countries until later this year or early next year.

If you still want to try some odd food combination in the meantime, why not give the NZ King Salmon flavoured ice cream a try?

Auckland's Fugitoto Ice Cream offers the flavour, with a splodge of wasabi on top. I've got no clue how to feel about this one team, some things just don't need to be ice cream.

Jenny of @ga.eats on Instagram tried the fishy flavour and actually found it quite "pleasant". She described it as "a creamy salmon dip but frozen, flaky and slightly sweet".

Our very own Dan Webby tried it and . yeah he wasn't the biggest fan.

I hope all you pickle lovers enjoy the heck out of the sauce when it gets here because I will not be.
