BurgerFuel are bringing back their epic ‘Wild Heart’ burger

Did we mention we've got heaps to give away?

BurgerFuel have brought back their 'Wild Heart' burger, and we’re not only excited to sink our teeth into it, but it’s also for a good cause.

Oh, and we wanna make sure we sort you out with one.

The burger builds on BurgerFuel's classic truffle mascarpone, aioli, and mesclun salad, adding a wild Fiordland venison patty rubbed with The Four Sauceman’s BBQ black seasoning.

It’s topped with locally grown shredded carrots, grated beetroot mixed with chia seeds, and finished with a drizzle of Citizen’s rich Central Otago cherry sauce, made from export quality rescued fruit.

$1 from every burger sold goes directly to the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation

Sounds like a decent feed.

Created in collaboration with the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation, Citizen Collective and WITHWILD, the project supports sustainability and reducing food waste in Aotearoa.

The venison patty comes from Fiordland National Park, where Wapiti deer are managed to protect native ecosystems. Once left behind, the meat is now recognised as a valuable resource and put to good use through WITHWIILD and the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation deer management programme.

The burger features repurposed ingredients, like Citizen’s Central Otago cherry sauce, made from export-quality cherries that didn’t make the cut, and shredded Ohakune carrots that were otherwise destined for waste due to their odd shapes or splits.

BurgerFuel is also releasing a limited-edition Midnight Forest Thickshake alongside the burger, made with dark chocolate, rescued cherry syrup, raspberry liquorice, and a mix of chocolate and cacao nibs - which will save 40,000 cherries from going to waste. Get in me.

Keen to try one?

The Rock Drive’s Jay and Dunc are all set to give away BurgerFuel’s Wild Heart burger to every single person who calls into the show next Friday (August 15). Plus, they’ve got a bunch of other sick prizes to give away.

How good!?
