We all know our Subway order like the back of our hand, and most of us say it as basically all one word.
If you're me, it sounds like 'six-inch-chicken-fillet-on-garlic-herbs-and-cheese-please', but that's about to change.
Just in time for the colder months, Subway has dropped an 'Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread' add-on to any sub, and after giving it a hoon today, we can confirm it's a serious upgrade.
It combines creamy garlic spread (on both sides of the bread) with THREE layers of mozzarella cheese, which creates a pretty delicious base.

You can go ahead and add all your normal fillings, or go for one of the recommended combos, which include Chicken Pepperoni, Chipotle Steak Melt or Italian Meatball.
I tried it with the meatball option - a full deviation from my go-to order - and it definitely hit the spot. It's super filling, so a 6-inch was more than enough for lunch, which equals serious value for money in a cost-of-living crisis.
Around rova HQ, my coworkers agreed. Ricky said it was "all the best things about Subway in one. Cheesy, toasty, garlic bready."
Izzy called hers "incredible", while Jacob agreed the cheesy garlic bread was the "perfect combo" with a netball sub.
Bella, our resident self-confessed Subway fangirl, said simply: "If this doesn't become a permanent menu item, I'm rioting."
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Bella, but the new bread is only set to be around until August 3rd, and the last time it featured on the menu was way back in 2021.
It only costs $1.30 to add it to a six-inch, and $2.60 for a footlong, which doesn't feel too shabby considering the price of cheese these days.
Subway's Director of Marketing says "this is not your regular sub with a little twist", but instead a "completely different taste experience".
Only one way to find out, right?
