The company that makes the beloved Sriracha spicy sauce, has announced that they will have to pause production of the condiment due to a chilli pepper shortage. We are in for a long, cold, and tasteless winter people.
Huy Fung Foods explained that the shortage is largely because of a drought affecting Mexico, where they source the peppers from.
"We hope for a fruitful fall season and thank our customers for their patience and continued support during this difficult time," they said in a statement to NBC.
We appreciate the honesty of Huy Fong Foods, but who is going to support we, the people, during this difficult time?
Any person who likes to live on the spicier side of life knows that Sriracha sauce is some of the best shit out there - a shortage, which could reportedly last for months, is going to be excruciating.
Fans have taken to Twitter to share their reactions to the heartbreaking news. Some people feel like the "world is ending", while others are looking to make a quick buck or provide some tips on where to get the good stuff.

We should have seen this coming to be honest - seeing as Huy Fong released a letter to wholesale buyers back in April warning of a possible shortage due to the climate over in Mexico.
We wish all our fellow Sriracha fanatics strength and resilience during these tough times. Stay spicy team.
