'I'm gonna be a mom': Hilary Swank pregnant with 'miracle' twins at 48 years old

"It's such a blessing, it's unbelievable."

Hilary Swank has announced she is pregnant at 48 and expecting twins with her husband Philip Schneider.

The 'Million Dollar Baby' star broke the news on Good Morning America, saying she had been wanting to have children "for a long time".

"My next thing is I'm gonna be a mom," she said.

"And not just of one, but of two. I can't believe it. It's so nice to be able to talk about it and share it.

"It's far enough along that I can share it. And I am sharing it right now for the first time."

The Oscar winner said she was "so excited" for the next chapter of her life, adding: "It's such a blessing. It's a total miracle. It's unbelievable."

Hilary said twins run in both her and her husband Philip Schneider's family. The couple started dating in 2016 and were married in 2018. The twins will be their first children.

The actress was on GMA promoting her new drama Alaska Daily, and explained she began having trouble fitting in her to wardrobe as her baby bump grew.

"My clothes started not to fit so I had to, the other day... cut [my jeans] open. And then I put a jacket on that wasn't in continuity," she said.

'And [they] came and said, "That's not in continuity." I said, "Oh, I think it works." "It doesn't." "No, it does. I'm going to make it work." She's like, "If you're an executive producer, you can do it, but this is weird."

Hilary is in her second trimester, but didn't confirm when the babies were due.
