Let’s not beat around the bush - life’s a mess sometimes.
No matter where you’re at, it’s hard to ignore that nagging feeling that something needs fixing beyond that leaky tap you keep forgetting about.
Maybe it’s your mindset, your daily routine, your snacking habits or exercise (or lack thereof).
But figuring out exactly what's wrong and how to sort it isn’t easy.
Our own Jay Reeve is the kinda guy who prides himself on the old self care. We’re talking ice baths, mindfulness, meditation and all the bloody rest. (It doesn't cure him of being a muppet, but it still does a lot of good and we love him anyway.)
We asked Jay to chuck us his top book recommendations for when it comes to tackling positive life changes, and he didn't disappoint.
Jay Reeve’s Book Recommendations
5 Different Types of Wealth - Sahil Bloom
This is what Jay is currently reading, and what he wishes he “had read when I was 18”.
"This really changed my perspective on things and how I operate, along with where I place value," he said.
The DOSE effect - TJ Power
On the Not For Radio podcast, Jay and Dunc got to speak to author TJ Power, who is also the lead neuroscientist at DOSE lab, and a renowned international speaker.
Jay describes this as “one of the most compelling chats we have had”.
The book gives an incredible understanding of the chemicals in our brain and what they make us do.
From Under the Truck - Josh Brolin
A new book from Brolin, who Jay “admired as an actor and never knew how well he wrote”.
Brolin retells his childhood from when he “was raised literally by wolves and mountain lions”.
He talks about his struggles with alcohol abuse, and happier tales of his current life too. Jay describes him as “one of the most magical humans you will ever read about”.
The 80/20 Principle - Richard Koch
This was an absolute game changer for Jay.
A great way of ordering your life, particularly for a person like myself who is a schmozzle.
Tribes 'On Homecoming and Belonging' - Sebastian Junger
Jay has always had a particular interest in all things human development, and “this is a very concise account of a particularly complex string of theories”.
Honourable mentions:

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari
The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss

There you have it. Now there's no excuse to stop scrolling for a bit and flick through some pages. Happy reading!
