Kiwi director Taika Waititi has officially celebrated 50 laps around the sun, marking the big day with a massive birthday bash in Ibiza.
Taika may have the movie-making skills, but his wife Rita Ora’s clearly got the party-planning talents of the two.
From a huge sit-down dinner under palm trees, DJ sets, and Taika masks, to a full on flame show – this looked like the party of the year!
The poolside bash was packed with famous faces including Matt Damon, Kate Moss, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cara Delevingne, Sebastian Stan, and of course, Rita.
In a heartfelt message, Rita wished her hubby the happiest of birthdays, sharing more pics from inside the party.
Peep the trays upon trays of cigarettes and personalised matches.
“Happy 50th birthday, hubby. I know it’s a big milestone for you,” she wrote.
“I’m so proud of everything you’ve achieved and all the endless dreams you still have and want to accomplish,” she added. “I’m inspired by you every day.”
“Thank you to all our family and friends who flew out from all over the world and came out to celebrate with us! I’m not crying, you are!”
Some of Taika’s Kiwi mates also made the trip. “The best surprise of all was when my cousins Rob Ruha and Ria Hall flew out to perform and honour me with haka and my own mere pounamu,” Taika shared in his own thank you message.
“Fifty feels so good. I feel loved and happy. And young. And hot,” he wrote, before joking: “Also, my knee hurts.”
“Thank you to everyone for the lovely messages of love, this world truly is mine and you’re all living in it, innit.”
Honestly, if Taika’s world means more parties like this – count us ALL in!
