Noel Gallagher broke his silence by doing his first interview since the beginning of the Oasis reunion tour, and he delivered all the goods.
In an interview with talkSPORT, he had some unusually nice words about his brother Liam after years of a public feud between the two.
“It’s just great to be back with Bonehead and Liam and just be doing it again,” said Noel.
“I guess when it’s all said and done, I’ll sit and reflect on it, but it’s great being back in a band with Liam.
I’d forgotten how funny he was.
When Noel was asked about Liam’s incredible voice, he simply said, “It’s AI”.
Classic gag.
On a more serious note, he continued with: “Liam’s smashing it, I’m proud of him. Having been fronting a band for 16 years, I know how hard that is. I couldn’t do the stadium thing like he does; it’s not in my nature, but I’ve got to say, good for you, mate. It’s been amazing.”
In terms of the Oasis reunion, Noel said he’s been “completely blown away” by the roar of success and support.
“Every night is the crowd’s first night, do you know what I mean?” Noel told talkSPORT.
“So every night’s got that same energy to it. But it’s been truly amazing. I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it.”
Noel said he “grossly underestimated what he was getting into”.
He described how his “legs turned to jelly” halfway through the second song of their first show, and that he just wanted to run backstage five minutes in.
“It’s been an amazing thing, it really is an amazing thing.”
The Gallagher brothers take their Oasis tour to North America next, followed by some more UK, South East Asia, Australia, and South America.
