This year has been a very special year for us as our Breeze jingle has officially been translated into both our official languages - te reo Maori and now, the New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL).
According to the Census 2018, Stats NZ, there are approximately 4,599 deaf people who use the NZSL and around 23,000 people in total who use the language.
With the help of the Auckland Deaf Society, Robert and Jeanette from our Breeze Auckland team learned how to sign The Breeze Auckland jingle.
Auckland Deaf Society was first established in 1937 and has been a welcoming space for the Deaf/NZSL community ever since.
"Kia ora! We wanted to show our support for the deaf and hard of hearing community of Aotearoa, so with their help we took our 'famous' Breeze jingle and learned to sign it." - Robert & Jeanette.
