'Married At First Sight Australia' Groom Jesse has opened up about what he really thought about all the 'crazy stuff' that went down on the reality show during his marriage to 'supervillain' Claire Nomarhas.
ICYMI - Jesse's wife Claire was involved in a cheating scandal after locking lips with another groom. However, while the scandal split the other couple - Janelle and Adam - up, Jesse and Claire worked together to mend their relationship.
That was until pesky little Harrison Boon - yes the man who allegedly bullied previous 'MAFS' contestants online and had a 'secret girlfriend' all the way up until the experiment started - decided to throw fuel on the fire by convincing Jesse that Claire had only stayed in the experiment to mend herself image after her infidelity.
Unfortunately, it led to Jesse and Claire mutually deciding to leave the experiment and call their marriage quits.
So where does Jesse sit now?
Well, he has spilled ๐ the ๐ tea ๐on what actually happened the night Claire told Jesse the truth about her and Adam's kiss.
Jesse told Daily Mail that he immediately tried to leave the experiment to go home to Perth, but the crew wouldn't allow it due to his contract.
"You can't just walk off the set. You can't just leave the apartments and catch your own flight. You can't do that. They wave the contract in your face."
He continued: "I don't even know if I'm even allowed to be saying this right now, but I just tried my best and I said, once I found out about the kiss, and we went to the dinner party that weekend and I said to Claire, 'I want to go home, I'm done with this. I want to go back to Perth''.
He added: "Like if you really wanted to make it up to me, why didn't you honour my request? It wasn't a demand. I wanted to go home."
Jesse has fed into Harrison's narrative of the situation by saying he believes Claire kept writing 'stay' at the commitment ceremonies just to "look after herself".
I'm personally devastated by this because I was absolutely rooting for both Claire and Jesse's happiness on the show.
Jesse also said he was "shocked" to see how their difficult relationship played out on tv, with Claire being shown as an angel, despite the "crazy stuff" she said on set, as well as the "cheating" and "gaslighting".
"'I was shocked watching our relationship play out on screen. I remember thinking to myself, 'I don't have to worry one bit about if I'm going to be a villain, because [Claire] just said some crazy stuff," he said
Jesse added: "[Claire] is a supervillain on a silver platter, and they're like, 'No, we'll take care of her.' It's almost criminal. The imbalance and the injustice, I can't even explain it to you, man."
Jesse admitted that it was difficult for him to see the show play out, especially since he lacked an emotional support network and a sympathetic ear at the time.
