'The Chase NZ' host has just been revealed

How did we not see this coming?!?

‘The Chase NZ’ has just announced the host of the Kiwi version of the hit quiz show.

TVNZ confirmed this morning that popular broadcaster Paul Henry would be taking on the role for its four-episode stint.

“I had absolutely no hesitation in saying ‘Yes’ to hosting The Chase New Zealand,” Henry said in a statement.

What kind of crazy fool would turn down an opportunity to host the most popular game show in the world?

While we’re familiar with his face and hosting style - most recently on murder mystery game-show ‘Traitors NZ’ - Henry says we’ll be seeing him in a different light as ‘The Chase’ airs.

“People might see a slightly different side to me in 'The Chase', I will really be wanting my teams to win, and I can be enormously charming when I put my mind to it”, he said.

While it won't be shot on NZ soil, filming is said to start shortly over in Sydney, Australia, at the same ITV studios where they shoot the Aussie version.

Following the original format we all know and love, NZ contestants will be going head-to-head with some of 'The Chase' Australia’s most iconic Chasers.

There’s even a chance you’ll face ‘The Governess’, Anne Hegerty.

The show put out a call for contestants back in April, and if you missed out, I’m sure there will be plenty of chances to yell the answers at the tele to make it feel like you’re just as involved.

I know I will be.
