Jamie Lee Curtis wins her first Academy award in her very first Oscar nomination

A big congratulations to the deserving actress!

Jamie Lee Curtis won the Oscar award at the 95th Academy Awards for best supporting actress for her role in the movie 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.

The actress has been in the industry for over four decades, but this win marks the first time she's won the Oscars. This was also the very first time she got nominated for the Academy Awards.

"I know it looks like I'm standing up here by myself, but I'm not, I am hundreds of people," Jamie said, acknowledging the entire team behind this film.

"We just won an Oscar together!"

The 64-year-old star also took time to thank everyone who's supported her, her family, and her parents Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis.

"To all of the people who have supported the genre movies I have made these years, the hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Oscar together."

Fellow co-star Ke Huy Quan also accepted his first Academy Award for the best-supporting actor for his role in the movie 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.

Earlier this month, Jamie admitted that she's turned down an invitation to the Oscar nominees' dinner because of the timing.

"Now you might say, 'Jamie, you're nominated for an Academy Award, you're going to be in the room with only nominees for the Academy Award, and I have declined.' Why? Because mommy goes to bed early."

She also "challenged" musicians to have concerts "during the day" for the same reason.

Laying down her "challenge" on 'Today', she said: "Why are there no matinees? For instance, I love Coldplay. I would love to go see Coldplay. The problem is, I'm not gonna go see Coldplay if they start their show at nine o'clock and there's an opening act. I want to hear Coldplay at 1pm. I think if we filled a stadium with people who want to see a matinee of Coldplay, I think we would start a trend."
