Butter + Milk Fats Down Over 10% In Latest GDT Auction

"A 10% slide in milk fats might seem dramatic, but we're still above long-term average prices," Davison explains.

Dairy industry expert Stu Davison from High Ground Dairy dives deep into the recent Global Dairy Trade (GDT) results following last night's auction.

Notably, there was a 6.9% drop in overall dairy prices, including significant declines in whole Milk Powder (WMP), Skim Milk Powder (SMP), Anhydrous Milk Fats (AMF), and Butter.

Despite the sizeable decreases, Davison encourages those within the Dairy industry to remain calm, highlighting the fact that New Zealand's peak milk production is influencing market trends, leading to seasonal price adjustments.
