Cassie Henderson has expressed how grateful she is for the incredible amount of support she received during her time on this year’s season of ‘The Voice AU’.

The grand final aired across the ditch, which saw Cassie place runner-up to her fellow competitor Alyssa Delpopolo.

After a few days to digest the unreal experience of the show, Cassie took to Instagram with a message for her fans and coach Melanie C.

“This chapter closes with so much love,” she wrote. “The past 48 hours have been a blur.”

“Melanie C, you gave me one of the most surreal, beautiful experiences of my life, and for that I’ll be forever grateful 🩶 .”

“Reading your messages and comments, I’m honestly blown away. You’ve touched my life in a way I didn’t know was possible, and I feel more ready than ever for what’s next.”

While Cassie reminisces on her ‘The Voice AU’ journey, it’s only right that we take a look back at just how far she came to get her well-deserved spot in the grand final!

Cassie Henderson’s ‘The Voice AU’ performances

Blind Audition | ‘Good Luck, Babe!’

Cassie had the judges gushing about her star power after her audition singing Chappell Roan’s 'Good Luck, Babe!'.

Her whole performance was flawless, start to finish. All four judges turned their chairs for Cassie (that's a gold medal in 'The Voice' terms), and she got a standing ovation, easily proving she deserves a spot on the show.

Cassie had a tough decision to make - especially after Ronan Keating said “you can win this”. But it was Spice Girl Melanie C who secured her on her team.

Battle Round | ‘Messy’

Going up against her teammate Gemma Hollingsworth, the pair did a duet of Lola Young’s ‘Messy’ and the judges called it the “perfect battle”.

Cassie’s battle was so good, Mel C chose her as the winner – but it didn’t end there.

In a rare twist, all four judges broke the rules by hitting their save buttons to keep Gemma in, too, meaning Mel’s team now has an extra member heading into the knockout rounds.

Knockout rounds | 'You Oughta Know' and 'Somewhere Only We Know'

Cassie had two chances to shine in the knockout stage - and her song choices were just... chef’s kiss!

Cassie first belted out the angsty Alanis Morissette track 'You Oughta Know'. The grunge and the way she really leaned into the feeling of the song proved her star potential.

She followed it up with a softer and more emotional cover of Keane’s 'Somewhere Only We Know', securing her spot in the semi-final.

Semi Final | ‘Green Light’

Performing like the absolute powerhouse she is, Cassie took on fellow Kiwi Lorde’s 'Green Light', with some of the most unreal production value we’d seen on the show.

She absolutely outdid herself. It was no surprise to her fans back home that she was making it to the finale.

Grand Final | ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ and 'Bittersweet Symphony'

Cassie pulled out all the stops for her final two performances - including a duet with a friggin SPICE GIRL!

Her solo performance of the Wheatus track ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ was something out of a ’90s prom movie.

She then joined her coach, Mel C, and the ladies took it to another level with a pop synth rendition of 'Bittersweet Symphony' by The Verve.

The harmonies are UNREAL.

While Cassie didn’t take out the whole competition, she has gained thousands of new fans across the Tasman and a number one supporter in Mel.

In her latest Instagram post, Cassie celebrated her fellow female finalists, saying: “To my girls, Alyssa Delpopolo, Cle Morgan and Bella, I’m in awe of you all. Alyssa, our winner, you have a heart made of gold and a voice that always made my jaw drop, you deserve every ounce of that win, and we are so proud of you.”

“To every crew member, person who’s watched, followed, or cheered me on, even the Uber driver who told me to go on ‘The Voice' the day after my audition, thank you,” she added. “I couldn’t have done this without you, and I’m so grateful I didn’t have to.”

We’ve always backed our Kiwi gal’s career, but now we know she’s going FAR. You’re a superstar, Cassie!
