Cassie Henderson is edging closer to making the final of 'The Voice AU' 2025, after powering through two tough rounds of knockouts on Team Melanie C.
The Kiwi singer made it through last week’s battle rounds, where she went head to head with her friend and teammate Gemma Hollingsworth.
Cassie took the win, but in a surprise rule breaking moment, Gemma was also saved. That meant one extra person heading into knockouts, making things even tougher for our girl.
This week, Cassie had two chances to shine in the knockout stage - and her song choices were just... chef’s kiss!
Across the two rounds, she faced Euan Hart, Lilli Vitagliano, Meg Drummond, Matthias Gault, Callan James and Gemma, all fighting for just two spots on Team Mel in the semi-finals.
Cassie first belted out the angsty Alanis Morissette track 'You Oughta Know'. The grunge and the way she really leaned into the feeling of the song proved her star potential.
She followed it up with a softer and more emotional cover of Keane’s 'Somewhere Only We Know'.
Judge Ronan Keating - who I’m calling her biggest fan at this point - was stunned. “Whoa,” he kept saying during her performances. He’s also the one who called it, right from her first audition, that Cassie “could win this.”
Fans have flooded the comments with praise and excitement for her semi-final performance.
“This is true professionalism and absolutely breathtaking,” one wrote.
“You never fail to capture me with your amazing voice, every time,” added another. “I can't wait to hear you in the semi-finals.”
A third said: “Every time you perform, I say that was the best, but you somehow step it up every single time.”
We’re fizzed for you, Cassie - and we’ll be cheering you on all the way through the semis!
