‘Ass, ass, ass’: System of a Down gets 60,000 brits chanting against Oasis

System of a Down turned London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium into one giant anti-Oasis singalong, after getting thousands of fans to scream out a diss chant during their set.

Midway through the show, Daron Malakian grabbed the mic and asked the crowd: "Do you have an ass?”

To no surprise, everybody cheered a puzzled, but still enthusiastic, cheer (because what are you supposed to say to that?)

He then doubled down “I said do you have an ass? Everybody say 'ass, ass, ass!'"

“We have a little song about a tapeworm,” he continued, joking that the band had decided to name said tapeworm today.

And what did they name it?

Oasis.

This launched into a “Pull Oasis out of your ass” chant, that had the entire stadium belting, before the introduction of ‘Needles’ ripped across the speakers.

If you're wondering where this beef came from, we have to throw it back to the early 2000s.

During an interview with LA radio station KROQ, Noel Gallagher absolutely unleashed on SOAD.

After I heard System of a Down, I thought, I’m actually alive to hear the shittiest band of all time, which is quite something when you think about it.

Of all the bands that have gone before and all the bands that’ll be in the future, I was around when the worst was around.

To be fair, Gallagher has taken shots at just about everyone over the years, including Sum 41, Jack White, Kaiser Chiefs and Phil Collins.

But it seems SOAD filed that one away and waited for the perfect moment to fire back... in front of a stadium full of people, in Oasis' own backyard.

Can’t argue with that.

This isn’t the first time Malakian has publicly shown his dislike for Oasis, uploading a picture to Instagram last year, standing in front of Chicago’s Wrigley Field, which had a sign saying “Fuck Oasis”.

The post was captioned: "Wow!!! I kept ending up at the right place at the right time in Chicago!!!!"

Something tells me Malakian is not Oasis’ biggest fan… cheeky bugger.

SOAD fans were frothing over the interaction in Malakian’s Instagram comments, with one calling it the “best crowd interaction since Freddie Mercury at Live Aid.”

Another joked, "I can almost hear Liam having a little tantrum over this. Almost.”

A third reckoned, "Pretty sure you had this planned since the moment you knew you would play in the UK."

System of a Down are currently tearing through Europe and the UK on a stadium run alongside Acid Bath and Queens of the Stone Age, who have just announced they'll be heading back to Australia and New Zealand.
