Tom Morello has teamed up with System Of A Down's Serj Tankian and his 15-year-old son Roman Morello to release a new single called ‘Adjourn It’.
The track is the latest taste of Morello's upcoming solo album and sees Roman sharing songwriting credits and guitar duties alongside his dad, while Tankian lends his unmistakable vocals to the mix.
Morello says the song combines "multi-generational Morello bulldozer riffs" with "the great Serj Tankian's prophetic wailings," which sounds exactly as massive as you'd expect.
"At this historical juncture every act of art is an act of resistance and 'Adjourn It', a collaboration with long time friend Serj Tankian and my 15 year old guitar wiz son Roman Morello, is a clarion call for justice in unjust times," Morello said.
The song was produced by Zakk Cervini, who's previously worked with Bring Me The Horizon, Aerosmith and Yungblud, and was written by Morello, Tankian, Cervini and Roman.
The music video also features footage from the classic 1954 film Salt of the Earth, a landmark independent movie based on the true story of a mining community fighting for a fair go.
Morello has also announced the Power To The People Festival in Maryland next October, with a stacked lineup featuring Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Killer Mike, Brittany Howard and Tankian himself.
