The Breakfast Club's very own Adam Percival had a heart-racing adrenaline-pumping weekend after saving his father-in-law's pet pooch from a muddy pipe.
To help tell the story Adam was joined by Kiwi legend Jason Gunn who truly believes that Adam is a "hero".
"You're working with a hero, I'm not sure if you've seen 'The Shawshank Redemption' because what we've got here is some real-life Shawshank," said Jason before praising his son-in-law for his heroic actions.
On Saturday Jason received a phone call from his neighbour saying that his dog was missing and it was extremely hard trying to locate him.
Turns out the dog was stuck in a "very, very narrow, drain pipe". No one knew how long that dog had been missing in the pipe but by the sounds of his bark, Jason knew his pet needed help.
So of course, Adam rocked up ready to help he thought there was absolutely no way anyone would be able to reach in and grab the pup who was stuck a few metres inside the pipe.
"People were calling the vets and the fire brigade trying to make something happen, but I knew we can't wait for this long we don't know how long this dog has been in here for," Adam said before launching into his action plan.
"So I took my clothes off and I'm gonna have to go in here and almost dislocate my shoulders to get into this blimmin pipe."
Once adam was inside the pipe he realised how scary it must've been for the dog because it truly was pitch black, it was cold and it stunk.
Adam and a neighbour created a chain effect with Adam holding the dog and the neighbour pulling Adam and eventually the dog was set free, but that was at the cost of a fair bit of Adam's pride after being covered in the filth.
Oh and despite racking up quite the vet bill Jason's family dog is safe and sound back home.
"If he could talk he'd be telling the story over and over again," Jason revealed.
