Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement is still sending the internet wild, and now Kiwis can get a Tayvis-inspired ring of their own.
Fresh off the back of the couple’s dreamy garden proposal, Michael Hill jeweller has dropped a limited edition diamond engagement ring inspired by the ‘Love Story’ singer and her Kansas City Chiefs fiance.
The ring is designed for “your forever era” and features cushion-cut lab-grown diamond available in 2ct for $12,499 or 5ct priced at a whopping $40,999.
Each stone is set in 14kt yellow gold with a “low-set bezel and four-claw design” to match the vibe of Taylor’s own engagement ring.
While still INCREDIBLY pricey - and might be a hard sell to the boyfriend - the ring is just a small fraction of the cost of Swift’s which has been reportedly valued as high as USD $500,000 (NZD $847,622).
"Bezel settings have been a huge trend this year along with a rise in demand for both yellow gold and bold statement gold,” says Michael Hill’s Chief Merchandising Officer, Claire James.
“To see that Taylor has opted for a Vintage (Victorian era) bold gold band with low bezel setting and elongated cushion cut is not only on trend, it aligns beautifully to the product we’re already creating at Michael Hill - classic and timeless pieces with a modern twist.”
Taylor first revealed her ring in a joint Instagram post with Kelce, showing off her bling in a carousel of whimsical pics.
The caption read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
And it turns out the big moment happened weeks ago. Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, spilled that the proposal took place in a flower filled garden after some fatherly nudging from him and Scott Swift.
“He was going to do it but wanted to find the perfect way to ask her to make it special,” Ed explained. “We kept trying to tell him, ‘When you do it, that’s what makes it special. So don’t fret on where, just get it done!’”
And we haven’t stopped thinking about them tying the knot since. This really is the Swifties’ version of a royal wedding.
Even our own Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is keen for the couple to say 'I do' here in NZ - how special would that be?!
