'Married At First Sight Australia' 2026 is already causing a stir before it’s even aired - and that’s thanks to one groom and his bride being removed from production just weeks into filming.
An internal investigation has reportedly been launched after multiple women made allegations about 2026 contestant Micah Lomu. It all sparked from one TikTok video claiming he was a "player".
Micah had already started filming, tied the knot, and was on his honeymoon with bride Ankita Karungalekar - a freelance sports reporter - when the allegations began surfacing online.
Insiders claim the couple had strong chemistry and were off to a smooth start in developing their on-screen relationship, but it’s all been nipped in the bud. As far as we know, both Micah and Ankita have been axed from the show entirely.
Daily Mail Australia reports that 'MAFS AU' producers are looking into the situation, though the extent of the formal investigation is unknown. The outlet also claims the newlyweds were told they were “no longer required on set” and were absent from the first dinner party filming.
Famous 'MAFS AU' wedding crasher and production sh*t-stirrer Joshua Fox has addressed the controversy, saying he believes all contestants were told not to mention Micah or Ankita, despite meeting them at the Hens and Bucks nights.
Daily Mail backs this up, claiming the remaining participants were told the couple would no longer be part of the experiment.
Micah seemingly has denied any wrongdoing, cryptically posting a quote to Instagram yesterday: “Real eyes, realise, real lies.”
Ankita reportedly told producers she was “100% safe, happy and comfortable” to continue with Micah, and is currently waiting to hear about her future on the show.
She hasn't officially addressed any of the allegations herself, but earlier this week posted a sunset pic to her Instagram Story, writing: “Was SO close to having everything I wanted.”
Monica, the woman behind the first TikTok videos about Micah’s alleged “colourful history”, says she hopes Ankita gets recoupled and given another shot on the show.
“It’s not fair on her if she misses out on this season of 'MAFS' because the groom she was partnered with has a colourful history with women who have posted in the comments.”
An insider told Daily Mail: “This isn’t a cut-and-dry situation and production is being very cautious about their next move.”
Whether Ankita will return remains to be seen - but for now, it’s believed Micah has been removed from the show entirely.
