KJ Apa seen at dinner with ‘Mr Fantasy’ - but fans think they’ve figured it out

KJ Apa and his viral alter ego have shockingly been spotted out for dinner together - but fans aren't buying it.

The ‘Riverdale’ and ‘Shortland Street’ actor has tried his hardest to create the illusion that the musician is an imposter profiting off his likeness, but going to these lengths has added a whole new layer of confusion.

The pair were seen sitting opposite each other while out for dinner at The Great White restaurant in West Hollywood last night.

He had me fooled for all of three seconds before I realised something was ever so slightly off about Mr Fantasy’s look.

And I’m not the only one. The comments under the now-viral video have been speculating who could have donned the wig for the night, with one name coming up more than others.

“I think it’s Rob Lowe’s son… they’re best friends and together all the time, and I think he could look like Mr Fantasy with the wig.”

Another agreed: “It's John Lowe lol.... I can 1000% tell you Mr Fantasy is the same as KJ Apa 😂”

“It’s John Lowe for sure. Also, why hasn’t Mr Fantasy filmed it? He films all of his interactions,” a third added.

And while it's not confirmed, we're almost all convinced it's not ACTUALLY Mr Fantasy.

Honestly, you tried your best, Apa, but you’re going to have to do better than that!

The Mr Fantasy disguise has been described as the modern-day ‘Hannah Montana’ - and as one commenter pointed out, we’ve seen this trick before.

“It’s giving Lily dressed up as Hannah so Miley could convince Travis they were two different people,” they said, referencing the scene from 'Hannah Montana: The Movie'

Others are giving credit where it’s due - because you have to admit, it's very entertaining to follow these stunts.

“I love how far he’s willing to go for the bit,” someone said.

Another added: “Obviously, that isn’t Mr Fantasy, but the lengths he’s going to make them seem so separate is sending me.”

Earlier this month, Apa broke his silence on Mr Fantasy in a heated video, attempting to convince fans that his alter ego was negatively affecting his career.

“I don’t know what to do about it. It’s completely disrespectful and completely wrong,” he said.

After fans weren’t convinced by that attempt, he pulled out the big guns with this latest move…
