A Rarotongan lagoon cruise band might’ve just delivered one of the most feel-good Olivia Dean covers.
Filmed in the Cook Islands, the video shared on TikTok shows Captain Tamas Lagoon Cruizes' crew casually strumming and singing a fast, upbeat version of Olivia Dean’s 'So Easy (To Fall in Love)' while out on the water - and the vibes are unreal.
The lead vocalist has an incredible tone, backed by ukarere strums and harmonies that will have you beaming from ear to ear.
It’s the kind of performance you'll watch over and over again… and, admittedly, it’s been on repeat through my workday.
Watch it and tell me you also want this version on a playlist immediately!
Others are just as into it too, with one commenter writing: “I want to go to the Cook Islands just to experience this.”
Another said: “I just finished listening to this song about an hour ago and thought, wonder what it would sound like Kuki styles, and then I see this! It was meant to be.”
And a third added: “Best version of this song ever!”
It’s not the first time Olivia Dean’s music has been given a twist either.
Earlier this year, Aotearoa artist Jordyn with a Why released a stunning te reo Māori version of Olivia Dean’s 'Dive', which quickly made waves online.
She followed it up with another Te Reo rendition of 'Man I Need', which even caught Olivia Dean’s attention herself.
Speaking with The Edge’s Ash London Show, Jordyn revealed all about the moment she found out.
Olivia Dean is set to perform in Aotearoa this October, and if we’re lucky, we're hoping to hear one of these versions get a shoutout on stage.
