Chris Martin has insisted Coldplay's Jumbotron kiss cam will remain part of the band's tour.
The British group are currently on the U.K. leg of their 'Music of the Spheres' world tour, and on Monday evening, they performed at Craven Park in Hull.
As frontman Chris admired some of the fans' signs, he referred to the scandal that arose during the 16 July concert in Boston, where Coldplay's kiss cam appeared to expose an extra-marital affair.
Addressing the incident, Martin told the crowd: "It's not a kiss cam. We've picked one couple and then you've branded it a kiss cam for the rest of your life. It's unbelievable."
"Sometimes, yes, they turn out to be an internationally massive scandal," he added with a shrug and laugh.
"But most of the time we're just trying to say 'hello' to some f**king people."
In another clip, Chris says: "We've been doing this a long time, and it is only recently that it became a...yeah," Martin, 48, added. "Life throws you lemons and you've got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you."
Martin was referring to the viral moment which saw the Coldplay kiss cam capture former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron with his arms around Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot.
When the pair realised they were on camera, Byron hastily dropped his arms from Cabot's waist, while Cabot put her hands over her face and turned around.
I fear Coldplay will never live this one down.
