Yungblud releases live cover of Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’ from Villa Park gig

The live cover is out!

Yungblud’s epic cover of Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’ from the Back to the Beginning gig earlier this month has officially been released.

At the Villa Park gig, which all went down on July 5th, Yungblud performed the cover as part of Supergroup A - consisting of guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bassist Frank Bello, Sleeptoken’s drummer II, and keyboardist Adam Wakeman.

In an Instagram post announcing the released cover, Yungblud wrote: “This was hands down one of the biggest moments of my life. I got to stand on stage and honour one of my heroes and the fact that it has touched so many is truly overwhelming.”

And it did touch a lot of people - the buzz around Yungblud’s performance on social media has been huge following the performance, with many people calling it one of the stand out performances of the night.

He continued, “The best part about this release is that we can take such a monumental moment - immortalise it on tape, release it and donate all the money to two extremely important causes - this is what rock ‘n’ roll is all about.”

All the proceeds from the cover are set to go to Birmingham's Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospice and Cure Parkinson’s - all charities that the farewell gig raised $190 million for. (Which has reportedly made it the highest-grossing charity concert ever.)

Fans in Yungblud’s comments are stoked about the release of the cover.

One of those fans just so happens to be Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi himself, who wrote, “Brilliant version! 🤘”

While another person, who is way less famous than Iommi wrote, “Yungblood, I hadn’t really heard much of you but when me and my father saw you live at Villa Park we turned to eachother and said fuck me he’s good…

“Your vocal was extremely powerful, second to Ozzy on that day, amazing job you did Ozzy more than proud!”

If you wanna listen to the cover yourself, it’s now available to download on Spotify and other streaming platforms.

How good!
