Kim Kardashian’s fashion brand SKIMS is officially going to be available for Kiwis to buy in-store on our shores.
Up until now, Kiwi shoppers have mainly had to buy SKIMS online, but from later this year, we’ll be able to browse and buy the viral pieces in-store in Auckland.
That means we’ll no longer have to hope we’ve picked the right size online or rely on overseas shipping.
SKIMS is set to arrive at the new Auckland department store Faradays when it's set to open on Queen St in July.
The first SKIMS drop in NZ will reportedly start from $35, with a range of underwear, shapewear, loungewear and swimwear. It will be followed with the NikeSkims collab expected to hit the store from September.
Faradays creative director and co-founder Constance von Dadelszen told NZ Herald she wanted to kick things off with a brand Kiwis already love, but haven’t had access to.
“Skims does that perfectly," she said. "It is one of the most culturally relevant brands in the world right now, and the fact that it is also genuinely accessible and the sizing is inclusive - makes it exactly the kind of brand we want to champion from day one."
The exciting arrival comes not long after another major global brand landed in Auckland - Victoria’s Secret.
Back in March, Victoria’s Secret opened at Auckland Airport’s international terminal, letting travellers grab some last-minute lingerie or beauty products before boarding.
But there is a catch - the store is located after security, meaning Kiwis wanting to get their hands on a Bombshell bra will still need an overseas flight booked before they can shop there.
Though we can’t complain, it’s about time we saw these major brands we’ve been obsessing over online finally make their way to NZ.
