Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert is officially getting the cinema treatment.
Following the huge gig - which went down in Birmingham’s Villa Park earlier this month - fans around the world were hoping they’d be able to relive the whole thing, and we’ve all been patiently waiting for some news about it.
It’s now been announced that the Production company behind the global-stream, Mercury Studios, are turning it into a film titled ‘Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow,’ and will be hitting cinemas worldwide early in 2026.
How could they possibly turn an eight-and-a-half hour gig into a film? I hear you ask.
Well, the film is set to be a ‘distilled version’ and will only run for 100 minutes. It will ‘aim to capture the raw power and emotional weight of Ozzy’s final bow’ and feature ‘exclusive behind-the-scenes access and interviews’ from the iconic live performance, Ozzy’s official social media states.
“Presented as a love letter to Ozzy and the pioneering sound of Black Sabbath, the theatrical release will be a distilled version of the epic all-day event held at Villa Park,’ the post also reveals.
"Featuring thunderous performances of War Pigs, Iron Man, Children of the Grave, and a show-stopping Paranoid, the film promises a deeply personal and electrifying farewell from the godfather of heavy metal.”
Following the cinema screenings, the film will be available to physically purchase later that year.
More information about the film is set to come out in coming months.
We’re keen to re-live as much of that gig as possible - so we’re chuffed with this news.
Plus, this isn't the only news related to Ozzy being in a film.
A couple weeks ago, we got more info about the upcoming biopic about Ozzy’s legendary career and life, which is currently in the works.
