“Plan to Blow Everyone Away”: Dom Dolla on his return to NZ

Aussie house heavyweight Dom Dolla is heading back across the Tasman for his biggest standalone New Zealand headline show yet, taking over Auckland Domain on Saturday, 6 February 2027.

The Grammy-nominated producer/DJ joined George Breakfast to talk about his return to Aotearoa, and if his memories of Electric Avenue are anything to go by, he’s more than ready for another Kiwi dancefloor.

“I remember getting goosebumps looking back at the videos, and that doesn’t always happen,” Dom says. “I said to my team, ‘We’ve got to do a big greenfield site show ASAP.’”

Now, that idea is becoming reality. Presented by George FM, Trademark Live and Untitled Group, the 18+ show will turn the Domain into a huge open-air dancefloor over Waitangi Weekend.

So, what can we expect? Dom isn’t giving much away.

But there’s plenty of Kiwi inspiration in the mix. After dropping his Slice of Heaven edit with Rhyme Dust at Electric Avenue, Dom is keen to explore more local sounds, with Ladyhawke’s My Delirium and Fast Crew’s I Got coming up during the chat.

He also asked George Breakfast to help connect him with Kiwi legend Dave Dobbyn for a beer — so who knows what might happen?

Dom also reflected on the long road to success, pointing to Melbourne producer Dean Turnley as an example.

“He’s only now just getting his flowers.”

Searley asked whether he’d wear a custom Warriors jersey during the set, Dom gave it an immediate 100 per cent yes.

And then there’s the moustache. Seeing his face on billboards across New Zealand has been surreal.

It’s a bit weird, to be honest!

Although there’s one issue: “My moustache is going a bit grey… maybe I’ll have to start dying it!”
