Ozzfest will officially return in 2027 at Villa Park in Birmingham, the same venue where Ozzy Osbourne played his final show in 2025.

The festival confirmed the venue with an aerial shot of Villa Park, saying: “Ozzfest 2027 at @AstonVilla’s Villa Park – more info on everything coming soon!”

No date or line-up has been announced yet, but Birmingham is about as fitting as it gets. It’s the hometown of Ozzy and his Black Sabbath bandmates, while Villa Park hosted the massive Back to the Beginning farewell show on July 5, 2025.

That night saw Ozzy perform five solo tracks before reuniting with Black Sabbath for four songs. Metallica, Slayer, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon were among the stacked supporting cast.

Ozzy died less than three weeks later.

Sharon and Jack Osbourne had already confirmed plans to revive Ozzfest earlier this year, with Sharon discussing keeping its traditional platform for emerging bands while potentially widening the festival beyond strictly heavy metal.

There are bigger plans too. The Osbournes have said Ozzfest will begin in England before it “come[s] to America”, although a US venue is still to be confirmed.

For Kiwi metal fans, 2027 might be a decent year to start putting a few bucks aside for a UK trip.
