During his Auckland show, Machine Gun Kelly was spotted wearing a very special piece of NZ-made jewellery - a ring gifted to him by local fan Jade, and he made sure to shout it out on stage.

Taking a moment mid-show, MGK, real name Colson Baker, told the crowd how much he loved being in Aotearoa, before proudly showing off the ring, which features a piece of pounamu.

The ring was handcrafted by Jade herself, who documented the entire process on Instagram, from designing and carving it in jewellery wax through to casting and finishing in silver.

She also shared the little detail that made it more special to her: “It’s also a type of jade, which is my name, so that’s a bonus!”

To get the fit just right, Jade even admitted to studying “way too many” photos of Coson’s hands.

“But we’re not gonna talk about that,” she joked.

Jade made it her mission to get the ring to Colson, and it paid off! Jade reveled that his team reached out to her prior to his Auckland show to tee up the gifting.

MGK acknowledged the gift live on stage during his Spark Arena show on April 18.

“Oh, dude, I'm rocking a ring someone gave me from here. It has a precious stone from y’all,” he began, before spotting Jade in the crowd.

“Oh, you made me this? Now, this stone I have is local to New Zealand. It's called pounamu, correct?”

MGK then clutched his fist in appreciation for the hand-crafted gift.

Jade said in a repost of the video: “I will never live this down, thank you, Mahine gun Kelly, I’m so glad you got it 🫶🏼 Thank you to everyone that helped make it happen!”

Elsewhere during the show, MGK had to quickly apologise for calling his Kiwi crowd the worst thing possible - Australia!

After immediately realising his mistake, the ‘Bloody Valentine’ singer tried to comedically remedy his slip of the tongue by punching himself in the face a whopping nine times…

Hopefully, with his new piece of jewellery, he’ll be reminded that we do it best here in NZ!
