Metallica officially lock in Las Vegas Sphere shows for 2026

The Las Vegas Sphere glows red at night, displaying the Metallica logo with "LIFE BURNS FASTER" and "SPHERE, LAS VEGAS" against a dark city backdrop.

Metallica are officially heading to the Las Vegas Sphere, they confirmed this morning (Feb 26.)

The band has announced an eight-show residency at Sphere in Las Vegas this October 2026, titled Life Burns Faster. The dates are locked in for October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31.

Plus, they’re bringing back the “No Repeat Weekend” format from their M72 World Tour, meaning no songs will be repeated across each Thursday and Saturday pair. So if you back up for both nights, you’re getting two completely different setlists. Deep cuts included.

According to the band, the shows will blend fan favourites and rarities with the venue’s ridiculous production capabilities.

Lars Ulrich has previously spoken about catching U2 at Sphere in 2023 and being inspired by what the venue can do. Now Metallica get to crank that dial themselves.

But Metallica aren’t the only ones locking in Sphere plans.

Tool are also reportedly in talks for their own Sphere stint when their next album lands, with drummer Danny Carey saying, “[We’re] working on a lot of new Tool songs now, hopefully 2027, that’s the goal.

“We’re very much into that. We’re hoping when we release the new record, maybe do a stint at the Sphere, ’cause I think we’re the perfect band for that,” he added.

Imagine back-to-back Sphere runs from Tool and Metallica.

If you needed an excuse to finally tick Las Vegas off the bucket list, this might be it.

Two-night “No Repeat Weekend” tickets and single-night tickets go on sale Saturday, March 7 at 7:00am NZDT.
