'MAFS AU' groom 'not jealous' as bride reveals pregnancy and engagement to ex

In what might be the biggest ‘Married at First Sight AU’ scandal for the 2026 season, one bride has seemingly given away the ultimate spoiler to how her marriage plays out after revealing she is pregnant and engaged to her EX!

Brook Crompton revealed to Woman’s Day that she had rekindled her relationship with her ex-partner, Harry, following her time on the show.

And her on-screen hubby has spoken out after learning that his now ex-wifey is expecting a child - but more on that later.

Despite her TV romance with Chris Nield not working out, Brook told the magazine, “Everything has fallen into place.”

This is everything I’ve ever wanted - to be with a partner who supports me and loves me for me.

Turns out, it was her Harry who made the first move when they decided to give things another crack.

“He came crawling back,” Brook said. “He had to do the hard yards because he broke up with me.”

The pair had some honest chats about why it didn’t work the first time around.

“We were both like, ‘OK, if it didn’t work back then, what are we going to do to make it work now?’” she said.

A trip to the Maldives with family friends sealed the deal, with Brook saying they came back “better than we had ever been”.

Brook also addressed the ‘MAFS’ timeline, shutting down rumours she was secretly in contact with Harry during the show. She told him she was going on, and while he didn’t love the idea, he didn’t stop her either.

Though, according to her on-screen hubby, Brook was quite literally in contact with her ex just days before they said ‘I do’.

Speaking with Daily Mail Australia's close 'MAFS' source, Ali Daher, Chris believes the timing may have been off from the start.

“With all the information I’ve got now, I just don’t think she was in the right place for a new relationship to form,” he said.

He says he found out during filming that Brook had slept with her ex just days before their TV wedding.

“I’m not jealous - we didn’t know each other. She can do whatever she wants,” he said. “But looking at it now, I just feel like if she was doing that, she wasn’t ready for a new experience.”

Chris claimed that just weeks after filming wrapped, Brook was back with Harry.

“I think it would’ve been three or four weeks after we finished that she was back with him, living in his apartment,” he said. “That proves again that she probably wasn’t ready for that experience.”

Despite Chris saying that he has no “ill wishes” toward Brook, it seems feelings may differ on his ex-bride's side.

In her magazine interview, Brook shares the difference between Chris and Harry after her time in the experiment. 

“I guess it made me realise how amazing Harry is. He’s nothing like that person I married on 'MAFS',” Brook said.

“He’d never fat-shame a woman or speak about anyone badly. He sees the beauty in everyone. I’ve actually never been with someone who speaks about women that poorly.”

“So right from the get-go, I was like, ‘This person is not for me.’ It was very much like, I’ve been paired with this person for TV ratings.”
