‘Married At First Sight AU’ is hot on our heels, ready to cause monumental chaos for another round of ‘I dos’.
As always, this year is set to be the spiciest yet, and after what I’ve already seen, they might be right!
From dodged kisses to lost rings and a stripper who looks the spitting image of Channing Tatum, there’s a heck of a lot to watch out for, so let’s run through what to expect when couples start tying the knot.
‘MAFS AU’ 2026 WILD WEDDING MOMENTS:
Hugs, not kisses
Despite marrying a complete stranger on the spot, the most nerve-wracking moment is always going to be sealing the marriage with a kiss.
But for one bride, it’s an absolute no-go!
After getting hitched, bride Brook Crompton refuses to kiss her hubby Chris Nield. YIKES. Instead, she opts for a sweet embrace before pushing her boundaries to a kiss on the cheek.
“I’m conservative,” she told guests. And you know what, you stay true to you, boo - but it doesn’t make it any less awkward.
Despite staying cool and careless on camera, Chris is less than impressed with the move in a behind-the-scenes chat with MAFS producers.
“At least kiss me on the f****ing wedding stand,” Chris tells a crew member.
This is an experiment. You’ve got three months. Like, I’m not hanging out for f****ing two months just to get my first kiss.
He brutally added: “I’m sure she’s kissed f****ing that many people… like it just annoys me. I have to work for it. I f****ing hate working for it.”
Cut to a confessional of Chris repeatedly saying “I don’t care…” over and over again. Idk who he’s trying to convince, himself?!
If there’s one thing I can confidently predict for this season, it’s that Chris defo cares.
Channing Tat-erm what?!
Remember the Channing Tatum look-alike rumoured to appear this season? Well, we can confirm he does… as a wedding guest!
And he is known to the bride!
During Bec Zacharia and Danny Hewitt’s ceremony, stripper and doppelgänger, Will Parfitt, was spotted sitting in the front row.
Bec turned to Will, saying, “Has anyone ever told you, you look like Channing Tatum?”
“He gets it all the time,” Danny replied, sending everyone into fits of laughter.
“Have you seen that stripper that’s making heaps of money?” She added, before her new hubby confirmed that is, in fact, the guy she’s talking about.
Turns out he’s more well known to the bride than just through news stories and social media - HE SLEPT WITH HER FRIEND!
“I heard you didn’t ring her after…” Awkies!
"Where are the rings?!"
If there’s one thing that is just as important as both the bride and groom showing up to the wedding, it’s the rings also making it down the aisle.
Unfortunately, that was almost not the case for Luke Fourniotis and Mel Akbayir.
In the limo ride to the venue, Luke was caught by surprise that he was the one in charge of bringing the two little boxes to the ceremony.
After scrambling through his bag, the limo had to chuck a U-turn back to their accommodation to secure them.
“We’re gonna be so late,” he said. And he was.
From what I’ve seen of the series so far, this doesn’t go down well with the bride… YIKES.
Cut to the vows
A woman knows what she wants, and it’s the right side of the bed.
Bride Alissa Fay’s vows to her groom David Momo were something, that’s for sure.
I’m torn over whether to give her snaps for being a confident queen or pick my jaw up off the floor for how direct and demanding they are.
“I’m Alyssa, your wife,” she began. “Normally, I make men work a lot harder for my attention, but here we are skipping straight to the vows. Lucky you.”
I’m not here for a three-month holiday, I’m here because I don’t want to waste a second more of my time.
She admits she wants “the house” and “the holidays”, specifically with Amalfi in mind.
Alyssa makes sure to give her coffee order for the next morning and reminds her new hubby she wants a kiss before bed every night.
And about that bed… “I definitely won’t let you take the good side of the bed,” she adds, before challenging David to a game of paper, scissors, rock for the right side.
This is either going to be a flying with colours type of marriage, or it's going to go down in flames. We’ll be watching for sure!
Caught the giggles
We’ve already named our sweetheart to watch this season, and it’s Rachel Gilmore.
This ray of sunshine caught a case of uncontrollable giggles while marrying her groom, Steven Danyluk.
“Is something in my teeth?” Steven joked.
“It’s my nervous laughter,” she reassured him, before launching back into a fit of laughter.
Honestly, it’s just so infectious, we can’t wait to see the whole ceremony.
Well, this season's already got us hooked. Get the popcorn ready, ‘cause it all kicks off Monday, February 9, on Three and ThreeNow.
