'It pains me': Lola Young takes break from music after collapsing on stage

“It hurts me more than you know.”

Lola Young performs at the 2025 All Things Go NYC at Forest Hills Stadium on September 27, 2025 in New York City.

Lola Young has announced she’s taking a break from music to focus on herself.

The news comes after the 24-year-old collapsed on stage during her set at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York City.

In an Instagram post this morning, Lola told fans: “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future.”

She thanked her supporters for “all the love and support” and apologised to anyone she’s let down, saying, “it hurts me more than you know.”

“I really hope you all give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger,” she added.

Since sharing her hiatus, Lola has been flooded with support from fans and fellow artists.

Teddy Swims wrote: “God bless you !! We support and love you.”

Another fan added: “You are so loved. You don’t owe us anything. Take as much time as you need. Big big hugs, sweetheart.”

A third added: “Bless you, Lola!!!! I’m so proud of you for taking care of yourself. You’ve already given the world lifetimes of beauty. Take care of you, and we’ll be here with gratitude for all you have given.”

ICYMI - Lola was performing her track 'Conceited' on Saturday when she suddenly fell backwards, prompting medical staff to rush onstage.

In footage shared on social media, she can be seen pointing to her head and mouthing to her crew, “I’m gonna faint,” before dropping her mic and collapsing.

Earlier in the set, she had told the audience she’d had “a tricky couple of days” leading up to the show, adding: “Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what? Today, I woke up and I made the decision to come here … sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”

Just a day later, Lola reassured fans via Instagram that she was “okay” and grateful for the love she’d received, though she hinted at a break by cancelling her next gig in Washington DC.

“I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted, so I’m sorry for those who will be disappointed by this,” she wrote.

As we’ve seen with artists like Lewis Capaldi, stepping back can be the best way forward. We wish Lola all the best as she takes the time to rest, recover, and return stronger - just like she promised.
