Lola Young collapses on stage

British singer-songwriter Lola Young gave us a huge scare over the weekend after collapsing mid-performance at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York City.

The 24-year-old was performing her track ‘Conceited’ on Saturday when she suddenly fell backwards, prompting medical staff to rush onstage to help.

Earlier in the set, Lola had addressed the audience and admitted she’d “had a tricky couple of days” in the lead up to the festival

"Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can't continue, but you know what? Today, I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool ... and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade."

Footage of her collapsing was shared on social media, where she can be seen pointing at her head and mouthing words at her crew, “I’m gonna faint,” before dropping her mic and falling backwards.

A couple of other female artists who were also performing that night were quick to send love. Remi Wolf paused her own set to tell the audience, “That was really f****** scary. My friend Lola is backstage, and she is okay.”

Rapper Doechii also shouted out her “sister Lola” during her performance.

“She’s an incredibly talented artist… and she wasn’t feeling well tonight and I’m so glad that you guys were there to support her and hold her up. Let’s wish her the best, okay, everybody!”

Lola reassured fans via Instagram that she’s “okay” and grateful for their support, but would have to cancel her next gig in Washington DC to recover.

An Instagram post from Lola Young reassured fans she is "doing ok".

“I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted, so I’m sorry for those who will be disappointed by this.”

The comment section showed a lot of love and support, with one fan saying, “Much respect for taking care of yourself, that's the number one thing that matters most. Everything else can wait. Your health is number one. Love you!”

Wishing Lola a lot of rest and a speedy recovery to return to the stage soon!
