Kiwi DJ Button B, real name Bethan Madoc, has just been added to the lineup of the massive Drum and Bass gig - Worship.

She’s had quite the journey to get there, and she calls it a "dream come true" to now be working with the collective made up of some of the biggest names in the scene – Sub Focus, Dimension, 1991 and Culture Shock.

Worship is set for a huge UK headline show at Finsbury Park, London, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, and Button B has spilled to Rova all the behind-the-scenes deets on how she went from bedroom DJ in Invercargill to sharing a lineup with the very artists she once supported right here in NZ.

Button B’s DJ journey kicked off at the end of 2019.

“I kind of just started playing around for fun… kick-ons, bedroom sets, on my ex-boyfriend’s controller,” she laughs.

Originally dabbling in dubstep, she eventually found her style in drum and bass. After about a year of learning the ropes, she landed her first official booking - in Invercargill, at a friend’s barber shop, playing to roughly 20 people.

While living in Christchurch for a couple years later, she picked up support slots at Hide Club - including for Culture Shock and Dimension.

“It’s really funny looking back,” she says.

I’ve supported all of the boys at previous gigs around the country… and now I’m working with the guys all over the globe.

For B, it’s truly a full-circle moment.

She even had a good stint working at George FM (and creating content when the artists came through), something the also helped her journey to Worship.

“That put my foot in the door,” she says.

Now based in the Worship office in London, she’s been working closely with the crew behind the scenes - even helping put together what was the largest drum and bass gig in New Zealand history when returning home earlier this month.

“It was emotional,” she says. “To have my journey through drum and bass meet where I’m from.”

So how did she actually land the Finsbury Park slot?

Button B says she was given opening sets at Sub Focus’ album release party and Culture Shock’s London show at KOKO - both chances to prove her talent.

“I’m guessing I earned my slot that way,” she says. “Showing I can put together a really nice opening set.”

Her sound is described as liquid, minimal and light drum and bass.

“Something you want to listen to during the sun of the day.” Which is perfect for her early slot.

She’s also buzzing that nearly half the supporting lineup is Kiwi - Rova, Pirapus and herself.

“We love that Kiwis just take over the London gig,” she laughs.

From behind the scenes to taking the big stage, Button B is making huge moves. We can't wait to see how her debut Worship slot goes off.

Everyone back home in Aotearoa is so proud!
