'Best option': Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson reportedly call off engagement

The world of rock royalty has taken a bit of a hit today, with news that Kelly Osbourne and her Slipknot fiancé Sid Wilson have reportedly called it quits. 

It’s been a heavy year for Kelly, who has been navigating the loss of her legendary dad, Ozzy Osbourne.

Sources told the Daily Mail the grieving process has been a massive struggle, and while she’s been putting on a brave face for the public, things behind the scenes weren't “quite as they appeared.”   

The pair had only been engaged for seven months - after Wilson proposed backstage at Ozzy’s final gig, ‘Back to the Beginning’. 

"Kelly has been struggling following the loss of her father," a source told Daily Mail. 

The grieving process has been incredibly difficult, and she's been doing everything she can to cope.

“In truth, she and Sid have been facing challenges in their relationship for some time,” the source added.

While they tried to make it work for the sake of their three-year-old son, they ultimately decided that splitting was “the best option”. 

It’s confirmed that Kelly “remains sober” and is now focusing on “herself and her role as a mother”.

The pair met over three decades ago, when Slipknot toured with the Ozzfest festival, which was founded by Ozzy and Sharon. 

On top of the breakup and the family loss, Kelly has been dealing with harsh online scrutiny of her appearance and weight. 

She took to social media to call out those online, saying, "There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something.” 

"Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.” 

Just last month at the Brit Awards, she admitted she was “going through the hardest time” in her life, so it’s encouraging to see now she’s putting energy into herself, determined to move forward. 

We’re still waiting for an official word from either camp, but for now, it sounds like Kelly is just focused on looking after her little boy and herself.
