‘So sore’: Jessie J posts raw hospital update after breast cancer surgery

"I will always show the good and hard bits of my journey."

Jessie J has given a raw health update after undergoing breast cancer surgery.

On Monday, June 23, the ‘No Secrets’ singer shared "the honest highs and lows” from her hospital bed.

The Instagram post came 48 hours post-op, where Jessie promised to “show the good and hard bits” of her journey.

“Grateful to my doctor/surgeon and all the nurses who cared for me, and all my family/friends who came to visit. 🫂 I am home now, to rest and wait for my results 🤞🏻,” she wrote in the caption.

The post featured a video of Jessie emotional and “so sore” in her hospital bed, the markings drawn on her body before surgery and pictures of her resting and recovering afterwards.

She also shared some sweet snaps of her partner Chanan Safir Colman and their 2-year-old son, Sky, by her side.

Lightening the mood, Jessie joked: “Chanan is in a nurse outfit. No, no, he isn’t, but funny to imagine.”

“Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this! 🫂🫀🔋.”

Jessie first opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this month.

In an Instagram video, she explained she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer just over two months ago and had spent the year undergoing numerous tests.

She said she’d “disappear for a bit” to undergo this surgery and joked she’d “come back with massive tits and more music”.

"It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job," she added.

Jessie has done extremely well to remain positive and lighthearted as she went public with her diagnosis.

She also wanted to show support for others fighting the same battle.

It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse - that's the bit that kills me.

While she’d been unsure about going public with her diagnosis, Jessie wanted to be real about what she’s going through and share the journey with fans who give her their love and support.
