Last night’s Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala in Los Angeles kicked off with a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, and it didn’t take long for the internet to start giving their thoughts about it.

Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll both took on Ozzy classics at the Beverly Hills Hotel event, ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards happening today (Feb 2), and reactions from both performances have landed firmly in the divided category.

MGK opened the tribute with a cover of “I Don’t Wanna Stop” from Ozzy Osbourne’s 2007’s Black Rain album. It’s a deeper cut, and one that surprised a few people in the room.

Online, responses were split. Some viewers were pleasantly surprised, with comments like, “Actually not a bad singing voice. I don't know what lane he's in musically, but that's not such a bad thing artistically. Respect,” and “not a fan of his music but sick cover.”

Others were less convinced, calling it “not the kinda song he’s got the voice for,” or simply, “God I can’t stand this dude.”

After that, MGK handed things over to Jelly Roll, telling the crowd, “Rest in peace, Ozzy. Bring it home, Jelly,” AP News reports, before Jelly Roll launched into “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

Again, reactions varied. Some praised the emotion, with one fan saying, “What a beautiful, raw tribute. Ozzy would’ve loved this,” while others weren’t sold, with comments like, “So he can't sing?” and “This feels like a wedding singer cover, sheesh.”

It’s not the first time Jelly Roll has covered the Ozzy ballad. In 2024, he covered the song during Ozzy’s second induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - which was also met with mixed reactions.

There’s an official Ozzy tribute still to come at the Grammys today, featuring Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith, Andrew Watt and Post Malone.
