If there’s one thing we know about Chappell Roan, it’s that she doesn’t do boring. But at the 2026 Grammy Awards, the Best New Artist winner decided to rewrite the red carpet rulebook entirely by turning up… well, mostly without a top.

The pop sensation arrived at the event and immediately sent social media into a full-blown meltdown. As reported by Just Jared, Chappell stepped out in a look that left absolutely nothing to the imagination.

The 'Good Luck, Babe!' singer wore a sheer, Red Wine Supernova coloured gown (sorry, had to) that appeared to be held up entirely by her nipple piercings. The fabric was literally hooked onto her jewellery, in a fashion/body art mash-up none of us saw coming. 

While we’ve seen plenty of "naked dresses" over the years - and let's not forget Bianca Censori being literally naked at the Grammys last year - Chappell’s bold look is being hailed by fashion critics. E! News confirmed the star arrived with a fabric wrap covering her body before dropping it to reveal the sheer masterpiece underneath, featuring a low-slung back and draped fabric.

The reactions online were instant, with fans of the 'Midwest Princess (and much of the general public) losing their collective minds.

"CHAPPELL ROAN HAS US SPEECHLESS" one X account screamed into the void.  

"Miss Roan you are a vision," another wrote, adding: "No one is doing it like herrrr."

It’s a massive step up from her 2025 Grammys debut, where she channelled 'Swan Lake' in a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier gown. This year, Chappell is a heavy hitter in the major categories, but regardless of whether she takes home a gold megaphone, she’s already won the night.

Chappell has spent the last year cementing herself as a fashion icon, drawing inspiration from drag culture and high-concept camp. She also takes no shit on the red carpet, as we saw when she told a photographer to "Shut the f*ck up" on the VMA red carpet a couple of years back.
