GrabOne is back to help Kiwis find cheap eats, spa deals, and book spontaneous adventures.
Paradigm Group, a Wellington-based company that builds and scales New Zealand businesses, has announced it has acquired GrabOne, bringing the platform back under local ownership after its liquidation last year.
GrabOne was bought by the Australian company Global Retail Marketplace NZ in 2021, before going into liquidation in October 2025 due to "funding constraints”.
“When GrabOne went into liquidation, it wasn't just a platform shutting down,” says Paradigm CEO Jonty Hodge. “Real merchants lost a channel that was genuinely working for them, and over 350,000 Kiwis lost a way to discover what's on their doorstep.”
For some of these businesses, GrabOne was generating millions in revenue. That matters. We couldn't just watch that disappear.
As of today, the website has relaunched for Kiwis to grab themselves a deal. I genuinely think I just heard my wallet let out a sigh of relief.
But this isn’t just a straight wipe the dust off and relaunch situation. Paradigm wants to ensure it’s powering a stronger future for Kiwi businesses.
“We back Kiwi businesses, and we want to see them thrive,” Hodge says. “GrabOne fits that perfectly; it's always been about connecting people with local experiences and putting money back into local communities.”
The new version promises Better tools for merchants, fairer terms, faster payments, a brand-new merchant portal, and more transparency and automation.
A solid 30 local businesses are already on board with the relaunch, and many original staff members have rejoined the platform after more than a decade.
Head of GrabOne Paul Raeburn - who was part of the team back in 2011 - says it’s more than just nostalgia.
“Last year’s liquidation marked the end of one chapter, but we always knew the platform still had so much to offer Aotearoa. This isn’t just a relaunch for nostalgia’s sake, but a reset focused on quality and long-term value.”
So if you’ve missed scrolling for deals, you won’t have to wait any longer. We are so back!!
