If you’ve got a GrabOne voucher sitting in your inbox waiting to be used, you might wanna check it NOW.
The online deals site, once a go-to for discounted dinners, getaways, and activities, has officially gone into liquidation.
Global Marketplace New Zealand Limited, the company behind GrabOne, has appointed liquidators Daniel Stoneman and Neale Jackson from Calibre Partners to handle things moving forward.
In a message to customers this morning, GrabOne confirmed via its website that the business has faced funding issues and is now looking to sell its assets.
"Due to funding constraints, the business has ceased trading and the liquidators are immediately commencing a sales process for the Company's business and assets," the update read.
As a result, the Company will not be promoting any existing or future Deals whilst in liquidation.
No more deals, no more promos and, unfortunately, no more refunds!
Consumers will need to take steps themselves - including contacting individual merchants - to assess how unredeemed vouchers will be treated.
If you’ve bought a voucher but haven’t used it yet, it’s now on you to reach out to the business directly and see if they’ll still honour it.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the liquidators do not adopt any agreement you had with the Company personally or otherwise,” the website's statement adds. “The agreement remains between you and the Company.”
Since the announcement, some customers have reported they haven’t been able to access their vouchers because the GrabOne website has gone down, which is only making things even trickier.
So, if you know you’ve got a voucher sitting in your email, you might want to get on to sorting with the business, if they’re still a go.
