Commonwealth Games: Mop Man tells us about viral fame and how they got the job

The Commonwealth Games are well underway, and while plenty of incredible athletes are representing their countries on the world stage, one person is making a name for themselves behind the scenes - Mop Man.

CJ 'Mop Man' Miller has become an instant viral sensation for busting a move while on the job.

Miller has been pulling out dance moves, including the worm and the splits, to songs like Queen's 'I Want to Break Free 'and Cameo's hit track 'Candy'.

More FM's Sarah Gandy tracked CJ down to chat about the sudden viral fame, whether any actual cleaning gets done, and even got CJ's mum to weigh in on the whirlwind week.

When asked how CJ feels about being dubbed 'Mop Man', they laughed: "If you had sat me down and gone, 'What nickname would you really love?', it wouldn't have made the top 100 - but beggars can't be choosers, I guess."

As it turns out, not much cleaning is actually getting done either, with CJ more focused on entertaining the Commonwealth Games crowds.

"I can barely clean my own house, let alone a basketball court," CJ admitted.

Elsewhere in the interview, CJ's mum, Lisa, popped in to tell Sarah just how proud she is of CJ's unexpected viral fame.

"I absolutely love it. I am stalking every single social media and following it all too," she said.

When Sarah asked Lisa to rate CJ's cleaning skills at home, she didn't hold back.

"It needs improvement," she laughed. "I'm surprised CJ knows how to use [a vacuum]."

And if you thought there might be any jealousy from the other cleaners because of CJ's viral fame (and lack of actual cleaning), don't worry - CJ says they do such a great job, they've barely seen one.

"I fear they might have been hired by the CIA or something, because I am yet to see one," CJ joked. "They are covert. They are ninjas. Maybe they are secretly plotting my downfall behind closed doors."

We can't get enough of the entertainment from Mop Man, and we're already hoping CJ makes an appearance at the 2028 Olympic Games. Fingers (and toes) crossed.
